Social work and Fun!

Today’s gist is about loving what you do but the main gist is having you find it.

So, why should this be such a big deal? Work is work, after all! Do you really need to love what you do?

Yes. You do!

Now, as much as I’d like to wrap this post up with that I’ll try and rationalize this a bit more for you.

You’ll lack fulfilment. If you spend your time doing something other than what you love to do, you’ll always have that feeling like you’re missing out on something. You’ll spend your days watching the clock, waiting until you can leave the office to do what you really want to be doing.

Bad times!

Please allow me tell you a bit about my profession!

We work with people to support them through difficult times and ensure that vulnerable people, including children and adults are safeguarded from harm. Our role as social workers is to provide support to enable service users to help themselves. We maintain professional relationships with service users, acting as guides and advocates. We sometimes need to use our professional judgment to make tough decisions that might not always be well received by all service users! When we hold managerial positions we bring in our social work skills to make managing a lot more fun! We are not dictators because we believe everyone should have a voice!

I love being a social worker!

Find what you love doing, do it and keep doing it! This certainly does not mean you should permit anyone to disrespect what you do or take you for granted !

Enjoy the rest of your week all !IMG_20150108_234755
